Songs

Jules never expected  to write Lyrics as she is not musical and she recognised that songs are driven by their music and not their words.

The breaking of the peaceful and companionable picking of olives on a beautiful, sunny December day by the uproar of a dozen cars, soon followed by the firing of the guns of the local hunting squad, changed her mind-set on this.

Returning home, Jules quickly and effortlessly wrote the first three verses to Beneath the Olive Tree with a strong feeling that it had to become a real song. She could ‘hear’ music but after several months of no success at Teach Yourself the Guitar, she started looking for someone who could create some music for it. Luckily, she made contact with talented singer/songwriter Mary Wheelan who kindly agreed to do this and also put music to three other pieces.

Courtesy of Mary, these four songs are featured in this section of Thoughts Above Clouds,.

A selection of lyrics only. Can be found in the LYRICS section.
